Shaping State and Local Policy on Technology and Professional Learning
Superintendents of several exemplary districts in discussion at the White House during to a Future Ready Learning event in December 2015
Darren Cambridge's team worked with the Department of Education from 2010 to 2015 to promote the use of technology to support professional learning and the transformative use of technology in the classroom. Our Connected Educators campaign that took advantage of the Department's bully pulpit and ability to convene the education community. We produced Connected Educator Month, crafted speeches and blog posts (such as this one we ghostwrote) by Secretary Arne Duncan and other senior administration officials, and contributed to events at the White House. Our research informed guidance issued by the Department on use of funds to support technology, and our professional learning toolkit provided local policy recommendations and examples. For the Future Ready campaign, we highlighted ways the leaders of featured districts collaborated with their school boards, state leaders, and the academic and business communities to create policies and partnerships conducive to transformative learning.
