Connected Educator Month, which Darren Cambridge launched with his team, was an annual event from 2012 to 2016 that built and nourished an international network supporting professional learning using technology. We persuaded over 600 organizations to contribute online programming, reaching over 14 million people per day via social media alone in 2015.

  • Connected Educator Month was originally part of the Connected Educators initiative, which Cambridge directed on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Educational Technology. Its purpose was to investigate and cultivate professional learning in K12 education using technology. A report on the inaugural event in 2012 details its design, and another focuses on 2013 contributions. The event continued for three years after the end of federal funding.
