Communicating Innovative Literacy Policy

Grounded in the expertise of teachers in the classroom, our Kent D. Williamson Policy and Advocacy Center team synthesized and disseminated promising policy ideas for improving the conditions for literacy learning. In addition to reporting on our policy research through the National Center for Literacy Education, we offered webinars and wrote and edited numerous posts in policy and advocacy for NCTE's blog. I co-edited Structural Kindness: Essays in Literacy Education in Honor of Kent D. Williamson (NCTE, 2015), which features contributions by many leading voices in literacy today. (Thinking of taking a thirty-contributor edited collection from back-of-a-napkin concept to page proofs in three months? I don't recommend it, but it can be done.)

A collection on literacy education policy and practice I edited with Patti Stock in honor of NCTE's late executive director.
